EPA Compliant · SWMS Ready · Nationally Deployed
Fixed misting systems and atomising nozzle arrays designed to meet EPA licence conditions, PM10 ambient air quality standards and SafeWork NSW obligations, for waste transfer stations, civil construction sites, tunnelling projects and recycling facilities.
Uncontrolled dust at waste transfer stations, construction sites and recycling facilities isn't just a nuisance. It's a liability. EPA licence conditions, SafeWork NSW regulations and increasingly strict PM10 ambient air standards mean that site managers and facility operators need a documented, proven suppression solution in place before work starts.
youmist designs high-pressure misting systems that atomise water into ultra-fine droplets small enough to bond with airborne dust particles and bring them to ground before they leave your boundary. Fixed line installations, zoned by site area, automated to respond to conditions. Built to satisfy regulators and keep your site running.
Your EPA licence requires dust management controls. We provide the system and the documentation to satisfy it.
Dust suppression specified from day one. We work with your engineers and principal contractor to integrate the system into your build programme.
Your principal contractor needs dust suppression in the Safe Work Method Statement before work can start. We move fast and document everything.
Dust leaving your site perimeter is an EPA Protection of the Environment Operations Act issue. A fixed perimeter misting line solves it.
High-pressure misting produces droplets of 10–50 microns, fine enough to remain suspended in air, intercept airborne dust particles and cause them to agglomerate and fall to ground. No wetting. No runoff. No disruption to operations.
Every installation begins with a site assessment covering dust source mapping, prevailing wind direction, boundary setbacks and operational patterns. We design zone layouts, specify operating pressure and nozzle spacing to achieve target suppression across the full site footprint.
High-pressure stainless steel or PA12 misting lines installed along tipping floors, tunnel headings, hoarding boundaries and stockpile perimeters. Atomising nozzle arrays positioned for maximum coverage. All pipework, pump stations and controls installed by our team.
Systems can be automated by timer, wind speed sensor or dust particle monitor, activating suppression only when and where it's needed. Full BMS integration available for facilities with building management systems. Remote monitoring and fault alerting included.
Not every site requires a high-pressure system. For areas where dust is light, surfaces need to stay damp or indoor humidity needs to be maintained, youmist also designs and supplies irrigation-based suppression solutions. These lower-pressure systems are well suited to stockpile dampening, unpaved haul roads, indoor material handling areas and damp-suppression applications where a constant light moisture is more effective than atomised misting.
We'll assess your site and recommend the right system, whether that's high-pressure atomisation, a zoned irrigation setup, or a combination of both.

A major Sydney metro waste transfer facility required a fixed dust suppression system across the active tipping floor to satisfy EPA licence conditions and address boundary dust complaints from neighbouring properties.
youmist designed and installed a zoned high-pressure misting system across the full tipping floor area, with atomising nozzle arrays positioned to intercept dust at source, with automated controls triggered during active tipping operations. The system was commissioned within the facility's operating schedule with zero downtime required.
A principal contractor on a major Sydney metro tunnelling project required dust suppression along active tunnel headings to manage respirable dust and meet SafeWork NSW WHS obligations under the construction SWMS.
youmist installed fixed high-pressure misting lines along the tunnel walls, designed to suppress airborne particulates at the source of generation during boring and shotcreting operations. The system was specified collaboratively with the contractor's safety team and integrated into the tunnel ventilation management plan.
Every youmist dust suppression system is designed and documented against the specific regulatory requirements of your site type, so that commissioning, EPA submission and SafeWork documentation are straightforward from day one.
Dust suppression systems designed to satisfy EPA licence conditions for waste and recycling facility operators. Full compliance documentation provided on handover.
System design targets NSW EPA ambient air quality standards for PM10 and PM2.5, including boundary monitoring integration where required by licence conditions.
Fixed suppression systems designed and documented to meet SafeWork NSW obligations for dust exposure in construction, tunnelling and industrial environments.
We provide full Safe Work Method Statement documentation for dust suppression operations, ready for principal contractor review and approval.
Our high-pressure misting systems atomise water into droplets of 10 to 50 microns. At this size, droplets remain suspended in the air long enough to collide with and capture airborne dust particles, causing them to agglomerate and fall to ground. The result is effective suppression without wetting surfaces or disrupting operations.
No. The ultra-fine droplets produced at high pressure evaporate quickly and are sized specifically to bond with dust particles rather than fall as water. The system is designed to suppress airborne particulates without creating slip hazards, surface wetting or stormwater runoff issues on your site.
We specify either stainless steel or PA12 (Polyamide 12) high-pressure tubing depending on the site environment and application requirements. Stainless steel is preferred in harsh industrial or corrosive environments, while PA12 offers flexibility and cost-effectiveness for many civil and construction applications. We'll recommend the right specification for your site during design.
Yes. Systems can be automated by timer, wind speed sensor or real-time dust particle monitor (PM10/PM2.5). This means suppression only activates when and where it's needed, reducing water consumption and avoiding unnecessary operation. Full BMS integration is available for facilities with building management systems, along with remote monitoring and fault alerting.
Yes. Every youmist dust suppression installation includes a full documentation package covering system design specifications, commissioning records, as-built drawings and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS). These are prepared ready for EPA licence submission, principal contractor review and SafeWork NSW obligations from day one.
