High-pressure misting systems that reduce ambient temperatures by up to 12°C, without wetting surfaces or requiring expensive infrastructure. For councils, venues, worksites and public spaces.
A youmist high-pressure system forces water through specially engineered nozzles at over 1,000 PSI, atomising it into ultra-fine droplets of just 5–10 microns. Droplets this small don't wet surfaces. Instead, they flash-evaporate on contact with hot air, absorbing heat energy from the surrounding environment and reducing the ambient temperature by up to 12°C.
The result is a cooling effect that's immediate, comfortable and safe around people in parks, playgrounds, restaurants, event spaces and worksites. No air conditioning infrastructure. No wet surfaces. No runoff.
Based on standard single-phase pump installation
Every youmist cooling system is custom-designed for the specific space, structure and usage pattern. These are the six system configurations we work with most often.
The most common installation for pergolas, trellises, alfresco areas and outdoor dining. Stainless steel or PA12 misting lines installed along the perimeter or overhead structure, discreet, reliable and effective for defined outdoor spaces.
High-pressure misting combined with industrial fan projection, cooling reaches up to 10 metres from the unit. Effective for large open industrial and commercial spaces without fixed infrastructure.
Freestanding high-pressure cooling stations for parks, playgrounds and public spaces. Self-contained units with built-in pump, filter and controls, no fixed infrastructure required. Ideal for councils needing flexible, relocatable cooling.
Nozzles set flush with concrete, pavers or decking, zero above-ground footprint. Mist rises from the ground surface creating a dramatic cooling and visual effect. Specified by landscape architects for high-traffic public precincts.
Spanning wire systems for large open areas with no overhead structure. Nozzles hang from stainless catenary lines strung between posts, covering areas of 100m² to 1,000m²+. 230+ nozzle configurations available.
High-pressure misting arrays installed at condenser coil inlets, chiller intakes and cooling tower air entry points. Reduces inlet air temperature by up to 12°C, improving HVAC coefficient of performance and cutting energy consumption by up to 25% during peak summer load. Also used for exhaust plume suppression.
Temperature-triggered misting keeping public spaces usable and meeting council duty-of-care obligations.
Landscape-integrated cooling for civic precincts, high streets and public realm activations.
Alfresco dining, beer gardens and outdoor event spaces. Extend your revenue season by making outdoor areas comfortable in summer.
Entry areas, spectator seating and outdoor recreation zones at aquatic and leisure facilities.
WHS Act heat stress compliance for outdoor workers, cooling for site sheds, break areas and exposed work zones.
Misting fans and perimeter systems for loading bays, processing areas and outdoor yards.
Safe, non-wetting cooling for playgrounds and outdoor learning areas, automated operation.
Spectator cooling, player warm-up areas and outdoor function spaces at sporting venues.

One of Sydney's most iconic outdoor hospitality venues required a discreet cooling solution that would complement the harbour setting without compromising the venue's aesthetic. youmist installed high-pressure tubing and nozzles around the perimeter of all the structural umbrellas across the full alfresco area.
The system delivers multiple benefits simultaneously: ambient cooling for diners, fly repellent through the continuous fine mist barrier, and bird deterrent keeping seagulls and ibis away from the dining area. All without wetting surfaces or affecting the dining experience.
An outdoor playground at one of Western Sydney's major shopping centres required a cooling solution that would keep children safe and comfortable during hot summer days, extending usable hours and reducing heat stress risk for families. youmist installed a catenary line misting system across the playground area, nozzles suspended from stainless wire spanning the full play space, activated automatically when temperatures reach threshold.
The town centre of Moore features a series of public trellises providing shaded community rest areas throughout warm months. Council engaged youmist to design a cooling solution that would reduce temperatures, eliminate manual operation, prevent theft or damage, and improve air quality in the dry regional heat. youmist installed the Polaris Series cooling system across six large trellis spaces, four single-phase high-pressure pump units with ultra-mist nozzles, activated automatically at 32°C.
On a 40°C summer day, your condenser is drawing in the hottest air of the year, at exactly the moment it needs to work hardest. Every degree of inlet air temperature above design spec costs you efficiency, capacity and energy. A youmist pre-cooling system fixes that problem at the source.
High-pressure misting nozzles are installed at the air intake of your condenser coils, chillers or cooling tower louvers. Ultra-fine 5–10 micron droplets are introduced into the incoming airstream, evaporating before they contact any surface, cooling the air without wetting coils or components.
The result is a meaningful reduction in the temperature of air entering the condenser, improving the coefficient of performance (COP) of your HVAC system and reducing the compressor load during the hottest periods of the year, when energy costs are highest and capacity is most constrained.
When condenser discharge air recirculates back into the inlet, a common problem in rooftop and plant room installations, it compounds inefficiency in a feedback loop. youmist plume suppression systems atomise mist directly into the hot discharge airstream, cooling and dispersing the exhaust plume before it can recirculate. This also eliminates the visible vapour plume from condenser discharge, addressing neighbour concerns and building aesthetic requirements at commercial and mixed-use sites.
A commercial facility at Oran Park required a solution to improve the performance of its HVAC condenser units during Sydney's peak summer periods, when the system faced maximum load at the highest ambient air temperatures.
youmist designed and installed a high-pressure pre-cooling system at the condenser coil inlets, atomising ultra-fine mist into the incoming airstream to reduce inlet air temperature during peak load conditions. The system operates automatically during high-temperature periods, reducing compressor load and improving COP at the moments of highest energy cost. Non-wetting installation with no moisture contact with coils or electrical components.
We design and install cooling systems for councils, venues and worksites across Australia.
Every youmist cooling system can be configured to operate automatically, no manual switching, no oversight required.
Activates automatically when ambient temperature reaches your set threshold (e.g. 28°C, 32°C) and shuts off when conditions cool. No manual intervention needed.
Programmable digital cyclic timer. Set active hours to match peak usage periods. Operating cost is minimised by ensuring the system only runs when the space is in use.
Advanced installations can integrate with on-site weather stations, responding to temperature, humidity and wind conditions in real time for optimal performance and water efficiency.
Remote monitoring via web dashboard or mobile application. View system status, adjust settings and receive fault alerts from anywhere. Available on all multi-zone installations.
No. youmist systems operate at over 1,000 PSI, atomising water into droplets of just 5–10 microns. At this size, droplets flash-evaporate on contact with hot air before reaching surfaces or people. The result is a cooling sensation without moisture, no wet clothes, no slippery surfaces and no runoff.
A standard single-phase pump installation costs under $3.50 per day in combined power and water usage, making high-pressure misting one of the most cost-effective outdoor cooling methods available. Multi-zone or larger installations will vary, and we provide detailed running cost estimates as part of every proposal.
Yes. All youmist systems can be configured with temperature-triggered automation, programmable timers, or both. The system activates when your set temperature threshold is reached and shuts off automatically when conditions cool. No manual switching, no oversight required.
Yes. youmist works regularly with landscape architects, urban designers and civil engineers on council precinct and public realm projects. We provide specification documentation, drawings and technical support for inclusion in landscape architecture packages. Flush-mount ground systems and catenary line configurations are frequently specified for civic and public space projects.
youmist systems are designed for low maintenance in Australian conditions. Nozzle filters should be checked and cleaned periodically, and annual servicing of the pump unit is recommended. We offer maintenance and SLA packages for councils, venues and commercial operators who prefer a fully managed service.
